NeuroKitchen is a laboratory for creative development while exploring the newest brain research to inspire it’s process.  NeuroKitchen nurtures the potential in people to be the most authentic, awake and effective they can be.

NeuroKitchen was founded in 2011 by current and former ensemble members who studied with directors Ron Bieganski, Stone Damon, and Anita Evans.  The founders created NeuroKitchen so they would continue to have a creative community as they move into adulthood. Founders remain active in supporting the organization, guest teaching in workshops, helping provide opportunities for young people to participate, and continuing to shape the direction of the organization.

Summer 2020 - Curiosity Club: arts + science workshops for kids
August 10 - 28
For Inquisitive Kids ages 8-12
Online and projects Mon-Thr.  1:00-4:00

This summer, we will be curious online. There will be interactive group zooms from 1:00 -2:00 introducing a project to be done offline.  We will regroup online at 3:00 to share our creations. Kids will have ongoing projects to work on throughout the three week session.

Our theme for the summer will be exploring mythological stories and their underlying scientific principals.  For example, if we were exploring Thor, we would look at thunder stories from many cultures and then explore the scientific explanation for thunder.  To see more about prior Curiosity Clubs and to see the movies created by the kids, click here.

Performance Ensemble: for teens

Ensemble!
NeuroKitchen Ensemble provides young people with the freedom, responsibility and tools to find their artistic edge. As ensemble participants develop acting skills, write dialogue, practice yoga, and play music we are also reinforcing the mental skills of focus, awareness and the happiness that arises from quality work.  In addition to the valuable experience they gain, teens earn a stipend from After School Matters.

The Curiosity Club builds art and science workshops with kids. Each session of the Curiosity Club is structured around a theme. Through hands-on projects we nurture children's interests to help them understand themselves and the world around them.  Kids are encouraged to take initiative, be inquisitive, and increase their awareness of themselves and of others.
