Declaration of Indy-pen-dance!

We each declare our independence so we may come together as people artistically challenging ourselves and each other. 
We have officially found our people.

We declare our independence, our in /depend /dance because every action has a reaction. 

We are all here because we have a story to tell.
We are the collective intelligence of OUR, OUR, OUR artistic community.
Creativity should be a free experience- if a group of creators can band together and develop a tight knit family, we should be able to be treated as such. Tightly knit by mutual respect, unity and a collective focus for the betterment of the community. 

In our independence We want a sanctuary
Sanctuary is such a beautiful word. Sanctuary!   
You want to scream that word into the rafters. “SANCTUARY!” - a place where my co-workers are more than just “co workers.” A place where we will always have a safety net if we fall as we challenge ourselves and ideas. 

A Sanctuary- a space where I/ we can be actively engaged as we step forward into growth and become the best me/we can be. 

We Declare that what we learn we will be passed on.

We have now declared our independence, our in /depend /dance.
With this declaration we now take the INDIVIDUAL responsibility to go forward as a collective.


(PS.  This was written years before our ensemble found its home at Independence Park. Beautiful coincidence!)
